Negative reactions has continued to trail the move by the Nigerian Senate under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Lawal, to enact law prohibiting protest in the country.
The bill which has passed first reading in the floor of house was sponsored by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, senator representing Nasarawa West senatorial district of Nasarawa state.
The lawmaker raised concern that the government has constantly been faced with incessant and irrelevant protests, distracting the government from the business of the day.
Nigerians on the social media however, did not take the report lightly as they have continued to protest against the bill. Most people who commented on the issue, directed the attention of the lawmakers on many issues bedeviling the country which requires actions from the lawmakers.
