Following the recent attacks on Damaturu and other North-Eastern cities by Boko Haram, the news of a lot of victims have been trending on Social media.
One of those victims includes Martha Bulus, a soon-to-be bride, who was killed by the terrorist organisation, rebranded as Islamic State Of West Africa Province (ISWAP).
She was killed on December 26th, on the road to Jimeta, Adamawa State, to prepare for her wedding scheduled for December 31st, 2019.
According to reports allegedly ascribed to the Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), she was abducted alongside ten others by members of ISWAP or Boko Haram.
However, two of the kidnapped who were said to be Muslims were released on the way, while others were carted away. Martha and her bride’s maid were part of those who weren’t spared, as they were all murdered by the terrorists.
The sad news was published on Twitter by Jackson Ude, a former Director of Strategy/Communication under President Goodluck Jonathan. Tweeting via his official handle, @jacksonpbn, he said,
“Killed near Gwoza on her way to her wedding by Boko Haram. Ten others were kidnapped. Two Muslims amongst them released while the remaining eight slaughtered by the terrorists. Two sisters [are] missing, according to Borno state CAN chairman.”
The news was further confirmed a popular influencer and journalist, Babatunde Otitoju tweeting with the handle, @BabatundeOtitoju
